They play a multitudes of songs, they played a Brian Adam song in order to make light on the humour of the fact that someone got a song wrong and they were making a joke out of it, they then play a Khalid song in order to get it back onto the normal songs that will make younger people want to listen  Are they supporting emerging artists - especially those from the UK?
At the  start they only play song that everyone knows (of today) and will attack them the station then they start to play songs that will make people listen to up and coming artists. The younger listeners won't want to hear the emerging Are they providing a platform for live music?

Jungle book 2016 questions

1. They used many forms of media in order to promote the film, one was social media such as snapchat in order to get filters and get you invested in the film so when it comes out you go and see it. Next they posted billboards everywhere of the movie which means that everywhere you turn you would see it and then want to go and see it. This also works with when you’re friends go and watch it and then they tell you about it and then you want to go and see it.

2. Because of how much social media and other forms of digital media are used these days means that everyone is consuming tons of media every day and this means that it will now be the most important  form of marketing because it has the ability to become the biggest influencers of publicity

3. A new aspect of filming now is 3D this means that people who are into the jungle book and 3D can have the best of both worlds. Also the technology now means that they are able to do amazing things with it. Next we have vertical integration is where Disney owns most of the company’s that they use in order to make the film, this cuts down on time and money when making the film. The original film was completely made by Disney.

4. The original film was targeted towards girls, they have now changed this by using special effects and cgi in order to appeal to boys and men because stereotypically this is what boys like.  They also re made the film because they wanted to appeal to the people that watched it the first time and then the people who watched the first remake and finally the children who have never watched it and grew up with the original

5.The Difference Between Copyright and Trademark. While both offer intellectual property protection, they protect different types of assets. Copyright is geared toward literary and artistic works, such as books and videos. A trademark protects items that help define a company brand, such as its logo.

6. He wanted it to be more unique and dark but at the same time he wanted the keep the beauty of the original

7. This meant that it was a lot more realistic and they could use the massive vault of Disney archives that they have built up over the years in order to make the film production smoother and more efficient. Is also meant that they would only have one human character and all of the other ones would be animated this means that they had to make them walk like they are actual their and figure out how the animals would interact with the environment that they were put in. This could have been from lying down to running though the forest

8. Like I have said in the previous section they build up the animals in sections. This means that first they get their bone structure and then put the skin on and then finally they put the fur or what ever they are covered in to make them act real

9. To play homarge to the 1967 JB they used cell animation at the start of the film to give that old fashioned feeling and make the people who watch the original get that nostalgia feeling

jungle book 2016

2016
The intent this time around was to make a Jungle Book movie, at cost of $175 million,
this time around they used a little boy called Neel Sethi worked alongside a cast of characters who were created entirely in CGI, and voiced by famous actors like Bill Murray and Lupita Nyong’o, who recorded their parts months later.
it racked up a global $1b tickets sold over the course that it was in theatres

-All animals and landscapes etc. were created on computers, mostly by the British Digital effects house MPC

cel animation as a homage - multiplane layers during the first scene (intro part)

-The producers tried to keep the animals as close to the normal anatomy of that animal to make sure it was as realistic as possible

-Some of the producers went to other countries like India to look at Jungles and such to help create realism

walt disney home entertainment realised it on VHS in 1991 and on dvd in 2007
it is a vertically integrated and they own many company in order to get the message out to a wider audience

Created with intent of a realistic look.

Humour would've been too broad for a live action.

Disney were open to faureau's new approach.

copy right
Copyright legally protects an author's works and as a result, it is vitally important in book publishing. According to the U.S. government, "Copyright is a form of protection grounded in the U.S. Constitution and granted by law for original works of authorship fixed in a tangible medium of expression.

Copyright, a form of intellectual property law, protects original works of authorship including literary, dramatic, musical, and artistic works, such as poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software, and architecture.

All works published in the United States before 1923 are in the public domain. Works published after 1922, but before 1978 are protected for 95 years from the date of publication. If the work was created, but not published, before 1978, the copyright lasts for the life of the author plus 70 years.

Explain why Walt Disney Company would have been lobbying for 'The Mickey Mouse'

This is when you try and persuade the government into copy writing something, in walts case this was him trying to save his characters from being stolen.

1967

the  budget of the film was $4m. this was for the whole of the production and how much money they had to spend o the film as a whole
the box office numbers that they bought in was about $141m
and the entire money that it made was around $378m

it used cutting edge technology for its time even though it is nothing special now the animation shocked the world

The Jungle Book was released in 1976 by Walt Disney Productions and was made by traditional cel animation in Walt Disney Studios to keep the costs at a minimum. The use of multiplane was developed to create a 3D effect.  Disney's personal control affected all stages of production and distribution. Bil Peet helped to storyboard the plot

The Jungle Book is the final film Walt Disney helped make and was more personally involved in the production of the film.

Processes of a film:
-conception (the idea of the film)
-pre-production (storyboarding, casting, scriptwriting, funding)
-production (filming)
-post-production (editing, sound design)
-released (theatricle, straight to DVD, online, marketing)

they have a large vault of ideas which means that they have loads of fresh ideas and they don't have to start from scratch. it also means that they can save time when it comes to editing and making the animations because they can use landscapes that have already been created and cut from other films

DVD sales have been decreasing over the years

Statement on intent

My narrative starts with Luke, who is my main character, I chose him because he represents the
16-25 AB demography. This is meant to represent how young adults have a very hard time finding
out what they want to do with their time as they are growing up and often have to go on a journey
in order to find who they are. His relationship with George, the other character is that George is trying to show luke that life is what you make of it and sometimes you just have to keep going Luke is meant to represent the hard times that young people go through when they are growing up trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives and finding out who they are. the reason that he spends so much time in the car that he is trying to drive his future forward.  I have chosen an upbeat song such as body by loud luxury because I want to show that not all the time is negative for students and young adults. this shows that they need to find that sense of freedom and it gives them their own identity.

The media language that I will be using in order to put this point across will be as followed; I have
used he climbing up different hills and mountains in order to shows that you have to climb
multiple objects to find where you need to be in life. Other shots that I have included are as
followed, I have used POV shots to show Luke when he is in different locations. This allows the
audience to get a view on what he is going through and see what he sees. This means that any
shots that Luke is not in is his point of view and the shots that Luke is in is a third person shot
in order to narrate his story. I have used close up shots in order to convey his emotion. This
allows you to get a closer view on how he is feeling without him actually telling you. there are also certain parts when luke comes across decisions that he has to make such as the bottle of beer in the woods. this could have sent him one of two ways in terms on his future. shortly after this he decides that this is not what he wants and goes back and finds George this is the evolution of lukes charater and shows a real maturity when it comes to following the right path.

In industries that I will be trying to enter will be the dance genre, this is because it is a very
upbeat and happy genre where people don’t have to worry about things and can just have fun.
the group that is producing the music video is universal music group, they are well known for
being a well known music producer that have represented a large number of dance genre groups
in the past. Looking at my website you can see that the sort of colours that i have been using are
of two sorts, the first being that i used bright vibrant pictures to make sure that people think of
my brand as fun and happy. Then you have the other side which is the darker colours this shows
the struggle that everyone has gone through and makes people refer to the times that they had
that might be dark and let them come together with similar people.

The locations that I will be using are Snowdonia and around the local area, this is
to shows that even though he starts off with being at school and he goes on and makes all of
these great memories that at some point he is going to have to come back and face reality that
is everyday life. This is the reason that I start and finish with the same location so that it comes
full loop and represents the cycle of life. What i mean by this is that no matter where you go in
life you always go back to home and that you have to go and do work at some points so that you
can also go and have fun.

photos

The lighting in this photo now looking back i can see that it doesn't work. This is because he is already wearing black clothing which makes the photo darker, plus the light is not being directed at him or at something to bounce off onto him. This gives it a very dark effect which is not what i'm going for as i trying to make it feel like summer.

This photo works a lot better because he is in the same position but has now got a lot better lighting which makes the whole scene feel warmer and more lively. He is also smiling and this shows that he is having fun which is the main focus of what i want people to be feeling when they watch my music video, i will want to make them smile.

I like this photo and i think it works because the lighting makes a great shadow effect, this has been created simply by making George stand off the wall slightly. He is also wearing a t shirt and has pulled up his joggers which give it more of a summer vibe for people who live in England.

statement of intent

My plan is to try and incorporate as many things as possible that will target the audience demographic that jam going for. This means that it will have to be relatable for the age group 16-25. This will mean young adults. This means that they are trying to find out who they are and trying to be free.

This will mean that the sorts of cloths that the people will be wearing are trendy and and most likely will be expensive. This is because the sorts of people i am trying to make it appeal to are of the A/B demographic, this means they are wealthy and they will have money to spend on nice cloths. This means that they appreciate clothing that costs more because they wear it. this will make them relate.

The location will be somewhere that is sunny and looks like you could have fun there. This is because i want them to get a warm vibe from the sun and have that feel good factor. This means people will get that 'summer vibe' and links it back to a time that they heard music in these locations and makes them reminisce in what they have done in the past. I am playing on going down to the sea side in oder to get some of these clips this is so that I can make people think of when they are on holiday.

The song that I will pick will be upbeat because it is dance music that follows the main person they will most likely start at home and it will see the journey. It will be a song that people can have a good time to have are able to dance, it will have to have a continuous beat. People will not want to dance to a slow beat that is sad or depressing.

I am going to have one main character in my narrative and then i will have a group of people that will go around having fun with this person In the narrative they will be dancing and having fun. I will use the use of cars to show that they are going on a trip somewhere and that they are going on a journey at this point in their life. this represents the changes that teenagers go through and some of the things that they have to deal with. they will want to be having fun and not worry about school or any problems they might have the song will try and get rid of the stress in their life.

Dance Music Video Comparisons

similarities
They both highly sexualise women in these videos as the target audience is mainly men. This is done to try and attract them into watching the video. It is also done to try and make women also want to watch it because they will want to be beautiful like these women. However this will turn away a lot of people because it is giving people a false sense of what they should be doing with their life, it might encourage them to go out and do things like this which might not e the best thing for them. Also it makes them think badly of the younger generation because of the things that they wear.

Differences
One end with them on a beach which shows that they enjoy being outdoors with friends, and one ends with them being in a club which shows that they enjoy the night life and the glamour that goes with it all. Also the first one sexualises them like the second one does but they are having fun in the second whereas they are just being used in the first one making them look like something they may not be.

This video also highlights the fact that the sorts of people that like to listen to dance music are going 'on a journey' of some sort, for the people listening it is metaphorical but for the people in the video they are bringing this image to life and this makes people relate to it and find themselves in the videos.

History for Music

Disco music- these sorts of songs are the classic ones that the older generation would listen to. Most disco music was around in the 70's to the 90's and in recent years it has not been as popular. You will hear bands such as Abba. Pop music intended mainly for dancing to at discos, typically soul-influenced and melodic with a regular bass beat and popular particularly in the late 1970s.Origins of the term and type of nightclub. The term disco is derived from discothèque (French for "library of phonograph records", but it was subsequently used as a term for nightclubs in Paris). By the early 1940s, the terms disc jockey and DJ were in use to describe radio presenters.

house music-It all started in Chicago's Southside in 1977, when a new kind of club opened. This new Chicago club called The Warehouse gave House music its name. Frankie Knuckles, who opened The Warehouse, mixed old disco classics and new Eurobeat pop. ... House music did not have its origins just in American music.

Techno music
-this is electric music that has more than one beat that is continuous, most of the techno music is very similar in the sense that there is an underlying beat going through the whole song. this makes it very repetitive which means that a lot of people don't like this style because they feel that it is to easy for them Techno is a form of electronic dance music that emerged in Detroit, Michigan, in the United States during the mid-to-late 1980s. The first recorded use of the word techno in reference to a specific genre of music was in 1988.

Music Video Analysis

narrative conventions
this is that they are always trying to have fun, for example you never see someone in a dance video looking bored or like they are not doing something fun. This is them trying to say that when you're dancing or listening to this music you will never be bored. This means that when you are bored you will think of listening to this music which is a great marketing tactic that they employ.

representation of gender
They are also young people who would be the sorts of people who would be dancing. This means that they are trying to target the younger generation into listening to their music. It also influences them to go out and dance and have a good time. This might be because they think that to many kids are sitting inside playing on their games and that they should be going out and doing things like dancing because it is good for them. The name of the song also represents something for kids because you sing them a 'lullaby' and this would

This video also highlights the fact that the sorts of people that like to listen to dance music are going 'on a journey' of some sort, for the people listening it is metaphorical but for the people in the video they are bringing this image to life and this makes people relate to it and find themselves in the videos. However they are not using kids in this video they are using an older gentleman which is why they reference things like 'church on a Sunday' like only old people are going to go to church. And that even people of this age are going through their own journey.

Dance Artists Websites

This page has been turned from his main page with all of his information into a tribute page for the artist after he passed away. They place us in the cave and him representing the tree means that he was in a dark place and now he is in a better place. They are playing homage to what a great person he was and how much he did for the music industry. This website will mean that he won't be forgotten and the colours used are to show the sort of person he was, the photo of his face is very bright and this shows that he was liked by a lot of people.

the colours that have been used are very vibrant and colourful, this is trying to represent happiness and how they are trying to make people happy with their music. The sorts of music that they produce is upbeat and with a fast tempo. tis makes it easy to dance to because people can dance to the beat. It also tries to relate you to make you feel like you are on holiday and will relate you to when you have been on holiday and might hear this music.

Gucci Advert Analysis

Here we can see the actor James franco who is very famous and is classed as an 'attractive male' to women. Men also idolise him because he is very funny and clearly from the advert gucci is trying to make men want to be him,

They have made it black and white to make him more secretive. The only other colour is gold, this makes the brand look expensive and makes people who have a lot of money

Theresa May Newspaper Analysis

Here you can clearly see the sort of image that the daily mirror is trying to portray when they talk about her. They use a very unflattering picture of her which makes her out so be something that she is not and makes fun of her almost. the wording that they use as well, the very first words is 'lies' which shows that they are clearly very mad at the fact they think that she has been lying about something. They also use 'lies' a second time to make sure that they really push their message across that she cannot be trusted.

Revision: Newspaper and Political Bias

  1. Consider what would some examples be of more liberal values / opinions? Why would someone vote Labour? The Labour Party is a centre-left political party in the United Kingdom. It has been described as a broad church, bringing together an alliance of social-democratic, socialist and trade-unionist outlooks. The party's platform emphasises greater state intervention, social justice and strengthening workers' rights. people who would be for labor are people who care about these values

  1. Consider what would some examples be of more conservative values / opinions? Why would someone vote Conservative?
  2. Where do other parties fit in to this Left - Right continuum (e.g. Liberal Democrats, The Green Party, UKIP, etc.)?
  3. Why would a group of people (e.g. a political party) change their stance in terms of key issues?
  4. Why would an organisation support a certain political party through its media products?
